This arrangement of "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty" is for solo ringer and piano, using three or four octaves of handbells. The familiar hymn tune is filled with scales, and the arranger has built upon this. The soloist and accompanist regularly trade playing the melody and harmony, making the partnership more of a duet than a solo/accompaniment relationship.
The arranger wishes to emphasize that scale drills are one essential exercise for solo ringers, and that this arranger was written specifically with both ascending and descending scale drills in mind. This piece also introduces the solo ringer to alternative positioning of bells on the table. See the Rehearsal Notes page for more setup information.
